Closing of the Bones Ceremony
honoring your journey into motherhood
This treatment of ancestral Mexican origin is also called "La Cerrada". It is generally offered as a gift to mark an important event in a woman’s life (wedding, birth, change of career, death of a close one, etc.)
It can be done quickly after giving birth. Sometimes the care provider will ask to wait a few weeks before taking a bath; the portable steam sauna can be used in the meantime. The mother will choose the appropriate moment as she may wish to breastfeed during the treatment, or rather take a real moment for herself.
It requires two practitioners and breaks down as follows:
The treatment lasts 2h30, enough time for the woman to refocus and make space for her new life.
On a physical point of view, wrapping the hips supports postnatal recovery, realigns the body and helps reduce pain. The draining herbal tea that is offered throughout the treatment, as well as the heat contribute to cleansing the body, thus offering the necessary space for renewal.
On an emotional point of view, practitioners will be very considerate, mothering, and will welcome emotions, thus helping the woman to receive after giving so much.
I offer this treatment in Mimet (between Aix en Provence and Marseille). If you know a future or new mother, it would make a beautiful gift.

- Rise in body temperature (usually with a bath with herbs or a steam bath) followed by some resting time.
- And closing the bones by wrapping your body in 7 key points, using the Mexican shawl called rebozo

What will happen during the treatment ?
If you wish, think before your treatment about the intention you want to give it. Is it for you an opportunity to feel more feminine, as motherhood takes all the space? It is a way for you to take care of yourself after childbirth or some tough time? Celebrating your new life, yours and the one you created? Every intention is right and it will give a deeper meaning to this time and space you give yourself.
When you'll contact me, we will decide together where you prefer to receive this tratment (at home or somewhere else). Depending on the possibilities at the place you choose, and your potential medical contraindications, we can plan a bath with herbs or a portable steam sauna.
The day of your treatment, we will welcome you with a specific herbal tea that will be prepared for the occasion. We will take a time to chat and know your wishes for this moment. You can share your intention if you wish.
Usually, we close the shutters and use candles to create a cozy atmosphere. We will have soft music throughout the treatment. Of course it's your moment and if you have other preferences do not hesitate to tell us.

We will then proceed to a massage of your whole body. You may or may not keep underwear (your choice) but you will be well covered and kept warm during the massage. The oil used is non-allergenic and essential oils free.
Once the massage is over, we may chat again and have more herbal tea while we prepare the bath. If you want to share some emotions we will welcome them with all our kindness. |

During the bath, we can leave you alone or stay with you in the room if you prefer.
When you are ready, you will take a rest under blankets. Then we will proceed to wrapping your body. Using the traditional Mexican scarf (the rebozo), we will help you to find the contours of your body by wrapping it in seven points: head, shoulders, belly, hips, thighs, calves and feet.
The treatment will end with a final chat if you feel the need.
